Just the other day, I decided to visit my childhood friend who lives in a nearby city. Time had really passed since I last saw Hellen and the distance between as was widening. Usually, am not the type of guy who clings to past relationships or even mind having friends at all, but for Hellen, we went back in time when I was only two, and she was four. Most of the things I did was a direct mimic of what Hellen was doing then and now that you know how special she was to me, you need to read this.

This was my chance!

That evening, I decided to book a cub. I just wanted to have some great time during my short trip The loud music and the general environment around most of our buses is a nuisance. Something about me and them just seems to be different. The cub driver was a talkative guy, he talked about politics and sports. I wasn’t much of a good listener and usually I would advise such a person to shut up, but something about the young man just seemed attractive, I was lost in the way he talked and the knowledge he had in various issues, then suddenly that minute that defines life or death came along.

Now, remember how I told you that I disliked public transport? Here is another reason. The degree of recklessness in which the vehicles are always driven. That day, it was all the same; it seemed like the drivers had not yet picked up any lessons from the many mistakes they do on a daily basis. This had resulted into a blood chilling accident that had claimed the lives of three people. Here is what happened. The street lights were red giving a clear notice to the drivers to stop. One bus driver ignored the lights and drove into a group of passengers who were crossing the road.

That was not all, the bus drove into a ditch and rolled several times. All these events were just happening before my eyes. Many people came out of their vehicles to help the injured. It was a terrifying scene with blood and bodies scattered all over. Many were rushed to nearby hospitals and the three lifeless bodies disposed to the morgue. It was later established that the bus driver was under influence of alcohol leading to his misjudgment.

That event got me wondering and questioning everything I knew about life. It is sad to see how one person’s mistake can deprive others off the many opportunities they were to have, and you never know, when that minute that will change everything comes knocking on your door. I had to complete my journey any way. I got to her place late. Excited than ever before because I finally had the chance to sleep over. The thought of leaving her place the next day was fascinating. I still don’t know how and why but I ended up staying there for a week.
